VANENSIO & EDDY BAMWITIREBYE

Bundibugyo

Pastor Bamwitirebye Vanensio is the vision bearer, lead church planter, and team leader of twenty Community Worship Center Churches in the Bundibugyo district, a region on the border of Uganda and DR Congo devastated by the effects of fighting and AIDS that left many people displaced, widowed, and orphaned. He now pastors Grace Community Worship Center of Bubukwanga, which is one of the 20.

After training and teaching at Westminster Theological School (now called Westminster Institute of Theological Education) with Emma Kiwanuka, God gave Vanensio the burden to plant churches among the displaced people of Bundibugyo and the jungles of Congo. After prayer and fasting, the first church was planted in 2003. God has allowed the churches to minister and teach in hospitals and prisons, to pygmies, orphaned and vulnerable children, and to the poor and the afflicted of Bundibugyo. The ministry is also involved in the training of local Christ-centered and Spirit-empowered expository ministers. The ministry’s passion and zeal is to plant Christ-exalting churches and to raise a battalion of Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, Gospel-moved expository preachers. Grace Bible Institute is currently on a monthly basis attended by more than 60 elders and pastors. His wife Eddy helps raise their seven biological children and twenty-five fostered children.
