MELVIN & ALEJANDRA ROMERO
Siguatepeque

Melvin Romero is the pastor of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel (Emmanuel Baptist Church) in Siguatepeque, Honduras. Melvin is committed to the central point of the Great Commission: making disciples who have a strong Biblical foundation, are capable of proclaiming Christ, and go on to disciple others (2 Tim. 2:2). To accomplish that end, Melvin seeks to set an example to those under his leadership in knowing correctly and completely the Word of God, guarding personal holiness, practicing an evangelistic lifestyle, and serving the saints. Melvin believes that the local church is the place that God has established for disciple-making.
Melvin Romero was a faithful practitioner of the Catholic religion. At age 19, he was confronted with the Gospel, which led him to recognize his need for salvation and a personal relationship with Christ rather than religious practice. After some time serving in various ministries within the local church, God called him to the ministry. Since November 2000, he has pastored the Emmanuel Baptist Church and participated in the leadership of the National Baptist Convention of Honduras. He has also been serving with Seminary for Expository Preaching (SEPE), a multisite seminary training men at two regional campuses in Honduras and Mexico and online with SEPE Global. Training men to preach Christ with Power, Passion, and Precision is accomplished by offering a Master of Divinity degree. Melvin has been teaching in this program since 2016. He teaches Biblical Hermeneutics, Pastoral Ministry and Expository Preaching and is the Administrative Director of SEPE Global since 2021. Melvin and his wife Alejandra have four children: Alejandra Maria, Celina Sofia, Josue David, and Ariana Esther.
