1 - Heart Check

Why do you pray? For many of us, we pray because we know we “should.” It’s one of several things that we know good Christians do and we don’t want God to be mad at us.

What do we pray for? Most of the time, we are thanking God for the food we are about to eat or asking Him to make the girl or guy we like like us too.

However, prayer is so much more than something to check off our list or a desperate attempt to get God to do the things we want. Prayer reminds us who our God is, who we are, what He’s doing in the world, and what part we get to play in His plans. Prayer aligns our hearts with His heart so that we might walk in His ways and see His power on display. Because of the Son’s work on the cross, we can go to our heavenly Father, and expect to receive power through His Spirit, so that we might see His Kingdom come on earth.
