Mariano Detorio has gone home to be with the Lord
As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4 of his own life and ministry, we have the opportunity to rejoice as Pastor Detorio too has fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept his faith in Christ to the end. Surrounded by those that loved him, he went home to be with his precious Lord and Savior last year. Many years ago, Mariano Detorio began an evangelistic work to the unreached Tboli Tribe on the island of Mindanao. Even through his early 90s, Mariano continued to oversee the Tboli Tribal ministry that today has over a dozen churches. Tboli men have come to study at Sola Gratia Grace Alone International (SGGAI) seminary (see Nonilo Sanchez in this booklet); many already have graduated. Pastor Detorio helped establish the SGGAI Tboli Bible School with these graduates and other Missionary Pastors. He helped teach the next generation of faithful servants church management, focusing on an indigenous policy of self-supporting, self-sustaining and self-propagating ministry, as well as other subjects such as New Testament Survey and Mission. A permanent building is currently being built, as several more Tboli men are now attending classes and being trained.
