Lönngren Taljaard completed his pastoral studies at the Master’s Seminary in 2010 after which the family soon relocated to South Africa. A few years of being associate pastor in several churches eventually led to the planting of Stellenbosch Bible Church. He has a passion for studying and expositing God’s Word, training up men for the ministry, reaching the lost through evangelism, counseling from Scripture, all things Church related, and whatever the Lord through the ministry brings his way.
Since their planting of SBC, the Taljaards have faced the challenges that are often part-and-parcel of post-modernist and secular university towns. The Lord has however blessed the church with members who are zealous for good works and who are not shy to share their faith with the town’s people. The church also largely consists of people below the age of 30, and who have not been saved for long. This means that many of Lönngren’s pastoral efforts, and Anna with the ladies, are discipleship oriented and aimed at producing mature people before the Lord. The Taljaards are grateful for what the Lord has done and make sense of their challenges as the Lord is continuing his process of sanctification in them. Lönngren and Anna have 4 children: Adriaan (13) Caris (daughter, 11), Estiaan (8), and Christiaan (5).
