HERNÁN & GABRIELA SIERRA

Tegucigalpa

Hernán Sierra  is the founding pastor of Iglesia Bíblica La Roca (The Rock Bible Church) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Through his pastoral leadership, the church is deeply committed to equipping the saints through the faithful preaching of God’s Word, biblical counseling, and intentional discipleship.

Iglesia Bíblica La Roca maintains an active outreach ministry in the capital city (a 1.7 million people city), serving vulnerable communities with both compassion and the gospel. The church conducts weekly evangelistic visits to public hospitals, providing meals and sharing the hope of Christ. In addition, the congregation regularly ministers in the city’s dump, distributing food bags and proclaiming the gospel among its residents, with plans to establish a church plant in that community in 2026. Pastor Sierra also leads weekly preaching and biblical counseling efforts within the local police department, offering spiritual care and support to officers in need.

In 2018, through the ministry of the church, Pastor Sierra founded the Instituto Bíblico de Expositores Internacional (IBEX International), a Bible institute dedicated to training pastors and church leaders in sound doctrine and expository ministry. Through IBEX, he currently equips more than 50 students across Latin America and teaches online to leaders around the world. His ministry also includes regular training trips to Cuba, support for local churches, and conferences in countries such as Colombia.

Pastor Sierra has also served as a world-class translator for renowned Bible expositors, including John MacArthur, and has translated several Christian books. He earned his Master of Divinity from SEPE Seminary, received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Golden State Bible Institute in 2021, and is currently pursuing a Master of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is joyfully married to his wife, Gabriela, and together they have three children—Hernán Jr, Gabriel, and Michelle—and a daughter-in-law, Daniela (Hernan Jr’s wife). As a family, they faithfully serve the Lord in Tegucigalpa through these ministries.
