CARLOS & LORI MONTOYA

Siguatepeque

Carlos Montoya was raised in a Christian home to missionary parents in the island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. As a teenager, his family moved to North Carolina. In college, God challenged him to decide whether he was truly going to serve God or himself. After pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina, Carlos received a Master’s in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1989. That same year, he married his bride, Lori.

From 1996 to 1999 Carlos attended The Master’s Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1999. In 2000, by God’s grace, Carlos was presented with a unique opportunity to serve in a pastoral training center in Honduras, where the Montoya family arrived on January 9, 2001.

Carlos is President of Ministerios Evangélicos de Las Americas (MEDA) and a Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Honduras. Carlos and his family have just completed 24 years of ministry in Honduras. MEDA was established in 1998 to train pastors from all evangelical denominations in Honduras and a growing number of other Central and South American countries. MEDA’s mission is to promote the exaltation of Jesus Christ in Latin America by training men to preach Christ with Power, Passion, and Precision. This is accomplished by helping in the operation of the Seminary for Expository Preaching (SEPE), which has now graduated over 150 men who are impacting lives and communities with their Christ-exalting ministries both in Central and South America. Carlos and Lori have 7 children, 3 sons-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, and 10 grandchildren.
